Alexander and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

04/16/24-05/05/24

Alexander is having a bad day. A terrible day. A horrible day. To be quite honest, it's a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Not only does he wake up with gum in his hair, but his mother forgets to pack him dessert, and his best friend decides he's not his best friend anymore. It is enough to make anyone want to go to Australia. But then, everybody has bad days, sometimes. In this delightful adaptation of her popular book, Judith Viorst sets Alexander's rather trying life to music and brings to the stage one of America's feistiest characters. Alexander's struggles with life's daily dramas will not only entertain but educate young audiences as they identify with Alexander and the obstacles he encounters.

Children's Charity Ball

The 25th Annual Children’s Charity Ball celebrates the positive impact the Bridge Family Center has on the lives of children, adults, and families who turn to them for care. The generous support of the community has made this vital work possible.

This year, the Bridge will hold the Ball at its new venue, Farmington Gardens, on Saturday, March 9, 2024. As in past years, the event will feature unique live and silent auctions, a dinner and speaking program, and dancing. For the 25th anniversary celebration, attendees will dance the night away with live music!

The Bridge continues to respond to the ever-evolving needs of those we serve. Sadly, the numbers of children, teens, and adults we see in our shelters, clinics, schools, and Family Resource Center continue to increase. They are anxious, depressed, fearful, and frustrated. They are hurting and need the hope and healing the Bridge offers. Your participation at the Ball ensures they are here for Every Child. Every Family. Every Time.

Cocktail attire is suggested. Seating is limited, please respond promptly.

In addition to their group works, these dancers will perform solos commissioned by esteemed professional choreographers Shannon Alvis, Gregory Dolbashian, Charis Haines, Loni Landon, Jamar Roberts, and Thomas Vacanti. These solos highlight each dancer’s style and growth throughout their educational journey at The Hartt School. Come join us for an evening of dance celebrating the seniors’ development and evolution over the past four years.
